Stichting Koorschool Noord Nederland (Choir School Foundation Northern Netherlands)
The SKNN looks after the interests of the Roden Girl Choristers. We are a foundation, not a commercial organisation.
The Choir School’s goal is to accomplish choir performances and concerts of high quality. We offer the children a thorough musical education to enable them to sing the extraordinary English choral music and similar musical pieces. Quality is key! At the same time we find it very important that they enjoy making music. The girls learn to develop their musicality and voices, to enable the choir to sing at a semi-professional level.
The Choir School tries to be distinctive and to work with a focus on development in conjunction with great commitment of parents and others. That is why the slogan of the choir is: “Where friends commit to quality”.
The choir school distinguishes itself by adhering to the Anglican tradition. The choirs of the choir school are built up according to the British example. The British tradition can further be seen through its repertoire, sound build-up of the choir, presentation and style. To be able to hold on to and feed this tradition, we maintain as many contacts as possible with British colleagues and make concert trips to the United Kingdom. In addition to the Anglican tradition we work on classical genres on a broader scale, amongst which of course the Matthew Passion.
The Choir school attaches a lot of value to the mutual involvement of members and their parents. This allows us to create a safe environment in which talent can flourish. The leadership and the parents – professionals and volunteers, work closely together to achieve this. A development which we continuously nourish. In addition, we aim for involvement of audiences and the press, sponsors and donors. Cooperation forms the foundation for the success of the myriad of tasks within the Choir school,
